CaptionOx is designed to be private by architecture, not just by promise: the product runs locally on your computer, inside Premiere Pro. This page explains exactly what does — and does not — leave your machine.

Your footage and audio never leave your device

Transcription is performed on your own computer by a speech model that runs locally. Your video, your audio, your transcripts and your captions are never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no servers that receive your media, and the software works fully offline once set up.

The only network calls the software makes

• License activation and validation. When you activate, and periodically afterwards, the panel contacts the store that sold CaptionOx (Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad) to check your license key. The request contains your license key and a device identifier so the 2-computer limit can be enforced. It contains nothing about your videos or your work.
• One-time speech-model download. The first time you generate captions, the speech-recognition model is downloaded once from its public model repository. This is a plain file download — nothing about you or your media is sent.

That is the complete list. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking and no analytics inside the CaptionOx software.

What the store collects

Your purchase is processed by the store (Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad). The store receives the payment and contact details needed to complete your order and email your license key, under the store's own privacy policy. We receive your email address and purchase record from the store so we can provide support.

This website

This website is a static site. It sets no advertising cookies. If privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics are enabled in future, they will be used only to understand which pages are visited, never to identify individual visitors, and this page will be updated first.
